This was a fantastic purchase. I am a IT guy and simply needed something that had a DVD, lots of usb ports, a fast hard drive (aka:SSD), decent amount of RAM and Windows 10 Pro. This is perfect! I was very surprised on how fast this performs. I forgot how much faster desktop and tower PC's are compared to
laptops which is what this replaced. It reminded me why I always had a permanent desktop computer for my home and this one fit the bill! I was going to get a new desktop for around $900 to $1200 but wanted to see if a refurbished business class desktop could accomplish my needs and it actually exceeded. The unit was very clean, very few scratches, but more importantly runs amazing. It boots up in seconds and the performance exceeded what I needed. I am not a gamer and this unit is not designed as such so I cannot comment on the video card for such use, but for streaming, office apps etc it exceeds the needs. I was not worried about the apearance as I know it was from an office environment and might have been dinged up. The appearance has nothing to do with how well the unit performs, but the unit was exceedingly clean and very few scratches. It's how it works is what is important and it was money well spent. I had a minor noisy fan and they sent me a new one at no charge and very quickly. Their support was wonderful for a refurbished product. Highly recommend.
BUY NOWGREAT - BUT - OOTB WiFi and BlueTooth did not work ... WiFi took my network down when activated
So I am a 30 year IT professional and decided to try a refurbished device for a change. Was particularly interested in small form factor and good performance. This machine fits that bill and I'm thrilled with the FINAL end result .. However, out of the box two devices did not work - Bluetooth would not connect and WiFi literally brought my network down. After NO response from tech support for two weeks … I simply bought other Bluetooth and WiFi adapters and am now very happy with the result. By the time Support got around to answering my emails (couple of weeks) I had already fixed my own problem. ort) .... For me it was worth another $40 to just get new (and better) Bluetooth and WiFi adapters and be on my way.
Refurbished unit was clean and free from all issues.
Refurbished PC was sent by (and I assume refurbished by) My Technology Geeks in Kent, WA. I mention this because of some negative feedback I read about other refurbished units. I believe these are refurbished by a number of refurbishers, and this one was very clean (inside and out - I opened it up to check), and the case and hardware showed little if any wear. The Windows 10 preload worked flawlessly and after a couple (expected - this is Windows 10 after all) Windows updates, it was up and running. DVD ROM included (mentioned in listing but not pictured).
There was a small 2.4 GHz WiFi USB card, which didn't have much range, but I expected I'd need a different unit and had already ordered it. The DP to HDMI adapter was included and worked fine. A new (inexpensive) keyboard and new optical mouse were included as well.
There were no funny smells, no squeals nor unusual sounds from the unit. - something other "reviewers" claimed about their units. I am very pleased with my purchase and feel I got a great value for the money spent.
Had problems but customer service resolved everything to make me happy
First off, the RAM was not the RAM that was in the specs of this PC. They resolved this by sending me the proper RAM, free. This is above and beyond. They were great to correct the problem. My PC runs like a champ. But I have to finish explaining exactly what's going on. In advance I want to say as long story short before I explain my situation, I got to keep the RAM that came with the system plus they gave sent me RAM that was supposed to come with it. Everything works awesome! Happy right now. If you have an issue they'll take care of you. They never once shot me down after I called 6 times to try and get the specifics worked out.
Regarding my situation, they offered to help me replace the motherboard with a better one because of how dissatisfied I was with the computer overall because my current PC was better in performance and power....
I honestly had no idea that HP customized their motherboard and power supply to make universal components incompatible. In other words, the HP elitedesk is strictly an office desk computer, Nothing more. Do not expect to modify or enhance this PC for entertainment. Honestly, I thought it(the motherboard/mobo) was like any other computer. As I said, my computer I had for years currently had way waay out performed that computer, but has older hardware. I simply took the best components of the HP Elitedesk(EliteOfficeDesk computer) and put them into my original computer. Processor, RAM and motherboard was important. The SSD was nice additive. I just went ahead and ordered a better motherboard than the one I have which they offered to help me replace and then I added the components from my original PC, combining them all together to make my PC awesome. So basically, the HP tower, board and power supply just ended up going into storage or I'll give it away. But in the end the value came out quite close to cost of upgrading.
Great office computers
Bought five to replace aging computers for a church office. The speed is amazing due to the solid state drive. Utilizing Microsoft Office and other normal office apps the computers are fantastic. The only disappointment is the lack of HDMI, however for normal office work the VGA output works just fine. Would definitely buy additional units. Highly recommended.
Product as described, easy set up, fast Wifi with adapter!
Received equipment in excellent condition. PC took me 10 mins to set up, pre-installed very useful software. Fast, and reliable Wifi connection with included USB adapter. It also brings a USB-to-HDMI adapter which I have not tested yet, but not necessary for my needs. Only complain I'd have is the cheap, poor performing keyboard, and mouse. It's the real deal basic hardware on both devices, and letter "b" already failing on the keyboard as I use it the First time. I'll be changing those really fast. They might as well sell the PC without them. Otherwise I'm very pleased with my purchase. The PC is what matters, the peripherals can be changed
This PC Purchase Was SO Worth It
Right off the bat, this pc was refurbished well. With the 4 processors + the integrated graphics I'm able to open a browser window whilst playing a game without a system crash/reboot. Though this pc was not marketed as a gaming pc per se, it handles [modern games, e.g., Minecraft, Subnautica, etc] them rather well. There was a very, VERY small ding towards the back of the pc case, however; 1) This wasn't an aesthetic purchase. 2) "Dings" have nothing on its performance. 3) In my opinion the "ding" adds an extra level of security in the likelihood of it getting stolen. :) In all this pc has been one of my better bugs from Amazon.
Great value
I own a cyber security and IT Managed Services business. This was my first recommendation to a client to purchase referbished PCs. Truthfully I had my reservations about this but so far these machines are great.
Ok, the cases are beat up and scratched but I expected that from the reviews I read and neither myself nor my client cared.
The cost was low and the performance so far is like new.
Couldn't be happier.
Donpay attention that the video outputs are DP not HDMI so I had to buy some adapters.
