My mother needed a new PC and this fits the need perfectly. It's very clean (though you can see some evidence of how dusty it was originally in a couple places,) it comes with a genuine Windows 10 license, and I found no bloatware other than VLC player which was kind of odd to have installed. PC also had little smell; sometimes you get one a smoker used and no matter how well you clean it, it reeks. Again this PC
was very clean. 3 of the 4 DIMM slots are populated, 2G+2G+4G. Probably a good idea to reseat the RAM given it's a used PC. Not sure why neither the serial or product number are found on HP's support site, but you can find it using just the 'HP Compaq 8200 Elite' designation. You won't find any Windows 10 drivers, nor should you need any. Performance wise, it's good as a email/web surfing PC, but anything with more demanding graphics will need a dedicated video card; the Intel HD graphics are built into the CPU and it's really limited. Passmark gives the PC overall a 1144 score; CPU 6016, 2D 599, 3D 170, memory 1605, disk 843. It's a slim case so a video card would have to be low profile, but the slots are there. The PC boots quickly enough, relying on the Windows 10 hybrid sleep. A SSD would make quite a difference though. The keyboard and mouse included are very inexpensive.. I would almost rather not get them and save the $8 it probably cost for the pair. You'll want something better.

Very good Desktop solution!
Installed this on New Years Day 2018, along with a new Dell Laptop. All seems well. Core i-5 processor is quick with opening apps/programs/websites (hardwired to router). Comes with a word processing program, which I deleted and installed my Office subscription (for now). Plan on replacing Office with 'Open Office Premium Suite' (also available on Amazon) which works well with Office docs, and costs about $13 ONCE instead of $99/year. Only glitch was there was NO SD card slot available in the model I was sent, so watch out for that. However, there are plenty of USB slots (4 front, 4 rear) available, and I simply use a USB stick with a card reader in it and it does great. DVD works great. The keyboard that comes with the computer is kinda' funky.....fully operational, but keys stick way up compared to most keyboards, so if you have a keyboard you like, keep it! New mouse that comes with the computer is great. There is no 'stand' as shown in the picture included, but I have mine standing on end with no problem (unless I kick it over someday). VERY satisfied for under $200 landed!
Love, love, love this computer- am sure I'll love it even more once Windows 10 is removed!
Just received this computer – “beautifully packed.” That’s why I gave it five stars. I’ll be setting it up tomorrow and keeping you posted as to how it performs... PS: actually came with me packing slip!
Said I'd keep you posted so here you go! The computer is super! Love everything about it... EXCEPT WINDOWS 10!!! For that reason here's your 'here's why' no W10. Had no idea that you couldn't write a document 'OFF-LINE' which sounds to me like info gathering without my permission. Second: Once I realized that I disconnected from the web and turned the computer off before I went to bed...but guess what...the following evening ( with the computer STILL OFF) it came back on all on its own! ... Now it's unplugged!
Soooooo, here's what I intend to do. I'm going to keep my sweet little Elite 8200 SFF Desktop which I love so much ... Take it to my local computer geek... Have Windows 10 removed... and have XP or 7 installed (YES you sure can have that done!)
Great computer! Looks almost new and arrived promptly.
First impressions:
It arrived promptly and looks almost new. It had 16 GB memory, better than the 8 GB advertised. Connected my own wireless mouse, keyboard and display. Turned on and it started working silently. No bloatware but some useful programs already installed like Google Chrome, VLC Media Player, Skype and Google Earth. So far 5 stars. In the next few days will test speed and other features.
Awesome Experience
The PC was packed tightly, and arrived in immaculate condition (and quickly, thanks to Amazon Prime). There wwere no missing screws, nothing broken. No flaws what-so-ever. The PC looked like Brand new on arrival, except that it arrived in a plain white box.
Setup of the computer itself was rather self-explanatory, after unpacking. Aside from minor updates, to Win10 there was no really anything to be done. There was no installation, or updates that needed to be applied before the PC itself could be used. It was literally plug in and play.
Exactly What I Needed
I ordered 2 computers. They came within the timeframe initially given (about a week). Both came with a keyboard, mouse, wifi usb, and windows 10 product key was on the unit itself. Neither came with power cords, which personally I would have expected to have power cords over a keyboard and mouse. I used a power cord I already had to test the computers out. The first computer's light came on then the fan kicked on and sounded extremely loud, I waited more than the recommended 20 minutes for it to boot up, it never did. I waited for probably about an hour before unplugging it and calling it a lost cause. The second computer's light came on and then it immediately showed the Dell logo on the monitor. The fan was quiet. Started right up, no problems. I started the return process for the first computer and had no issues with them accepting it. I immediately placed an order for another computer through this company and it came in even less time (3 days). This package came from a different location (per the tracking) and packaging looked a little differently. It came with a power cord, a keyboard, a mouse, but no wifi usb. Windows 10 was already loaded on it so I didn't need a product key. It was the same exact computer as the first order. Plugged it in, immediately started up with no issues. Overall, I am very satisfied. It wasn't perfect but for the price and need, I am satisfied.
Very nice little system, great design.
I got this for my Aunt to hook up to her big screen tv, no gaming, no video editing, just used as a media player for movies, streaming, music etc... this is a great buy, I do recommend adding a video card, it comes with the old CRT/VGA connector which most big screens don't have now days. I used the MSI GT 710 1GD3H LPV1 , only $37.00 which gives you a very nice picture, obviously not for gaming. The low profile video/graphics cards usually come with a smaller plate that you can switch out so it fits in a case like this one...just loosen the small hex nuts on the end and change it. Don't forget to get an HDMI cable with audio return so you get sound output to your tv... I also liked the design of the system, case opens easily without screws, the components inside are hinged and swivel up.. I easily added another hard drive under the ROM drive, there was even a sata power connector right there waiting for a drive to be installed.... very easy to work on. I would also recommend a wireless keyboard and mouse when setting this up for entertainment in a main room... the system vents out the front of the case so I was able lay it down horizontal (as hp intended it to be) and put a printer on top as there are no vents to block.
HP Elite 8200 SFF Desktop PC - Intel Core i5-2400 3.1GHz 8GB 500GB DVDRW Windows 10 Professional
I got to tell you, I was really hesitant about the price of this computer, I just needed something to have as a back up, to quickly check my emails, or stuff that needed a computer. I have a laptop, but sometimes you take longer with your laptop if you don't use all the time, it may be out of battery, etc.
First inpression was fantastic! the computer is actually heavy, and sturdy, some people may think this is not a good thing, but it speaks of the quality of the components!
boots crazy fast, has done everything I need from her so far, I have saved large files as back up from other computers up to 300gb, and it woeks great!
it is not going to be an autocad digital desing studio computer, but for that price! I cannot say enough good things!
